The forum wirtschaftsmediation was founded in 1997 as an association statutes (in German). Its membership of approximately 50 are business mediators from a wide range of professions such as business lawyers, management consultants, attorneys, notaries, psychologists, judges, managers, tax consultants, etc.
Forum wirtschaftsmediation is the only organisation that does not represent a specific group of professions of origin, but exclusively those of business mediators.
Forum wirtschaftsmediation offers as a service the first Austrian mediation guide for your structured approach to conflict resolution.
The main objective is to disseminate the method and the possible applications of mediation in economy.
The regular Jour fixes of the forum wirtschaftsmediation deal with questions of content, such as mediation in Labour law (based on international comparisons), the clarity of roles between conciliation and mediation, possibilities of conflict analysis via organisational constellations, the discussion about the requirements of field competence, international comparative studies, mediation on the Internet, forced mediation etc.
Case-related interventions, various working groups and the supervision of diploma theses round off the job description.
On request, the forum wirtschaftsmediation arranges business mediators or teams for co-mediation, which are composed according to the specific requirements of the case. Due to our practical experience we see co-mediation as an important additional resource. Advantages result particularly from complementary experience backgrounds, mixed-gender composition, resource diversity, etc.

Since 1997, interest groups as well as public and private institutions have been reached through out lectures and workshops on the topic, thus making a significant contribution to the dissemination of business mediation in Austria. You will find interesting documents in the download area.
